SDA Architecture | Commissioned for Grade 2 listed building conservation project | Thornbers

SDA commissioned to transform Grade 2 Listed Building.

We are delighted to have been commissioned to redesign and reinvent this beautiful grade 2 listed building in Waddington, Clitheroe.

Thornbers is a 16 century, grade 2 listed building, comprising of a detached stone farmhouse that is situated in an elevated rural position with spectacular open views over the Ribble Valley. Thornbers currently offers well proportioned family accommodation with extensive grounds and gardens, ample parking and detached barn presently used as garaging and storage. Sitting room, living room, breakfast room, kitchen, office, garden room, three bedrooms.

The original timber frame home has been transformed over the years to be one of the oldest farm houses in Lancashire.

The appointment of SDA Architecture Ltd from the many architectural firms trying to win this project is really pleasing as it highlights that SDA is a design practice that not only creates bespoke one off green belt NPPF homes but has the experience in the Heritage sector to sensitively conserve and restore listed assets. I feel SDA have the ability to blend the old and new to allow the new to enhance the listed buildings and provide a delicate cohesion between heritage and listed building to contemporary additions for modern day living.
